Performance profile has to be re-enabled manually after reboot (Fairphone 3 - FP3)
- /e/ version: every Q build, currently v0.16
- Device model(s): FP3
Summary
On the Fairphone 3 you have to enable Performance Mode/Profile under the Battery option for the device to run smooth. The problem is that after a reboot the Phone starts lagging again even tho the Performance Mode/Profile is selected. The only solution to this is to manually disable and re-enable Performance Mode/Profile under the Battery settings which is quite annoying
The problem
Steps to reproduce:
- Enable The highest performance mode and look how smooth it is
- Reboot the phone
- Wait a few seconds/minutes and watch it jitter/lag again
After a reboot the Phone starts lagging again even tho the Performance Mode/Profile is selected. The only solution to this is to manually disable and re-enable Performance Mode/Profile under the Battery settings which is quite annoying
What is the current behavior?
The phone probably goes back to the jittery "Balanced" mode even tho it says that Performance Mode is enabled
What is the expected correct behavior?
The phone should stay in Performance Mode and stay smooth

Solutions
Workaround
Disable and re-enable Performance Mode after every Reboot
Possible fixes
I am not an Android developer but since Android is partially Linux (and it's UNIX like) every thing that is done in the android settings is technically just a shell command. A possible solution might be a startup script that disables and then re-enables performance mode (or any other selected mode) if selected.!
