F-Droid download in Apps broken

Summary

After receiving a notification about a new app update (automatic app updates are disabled) I tried to download the displayed update of the F-Droid app in Apps (version: 1.13-alpha0). This is not successful. If i hit "update" the process starts and stops immediately (without any progression).

Updating F-Droid to the new Version seems to be impossible. I've tried it using various connections (WiFi and mobile network), but this doesn't make a difference.
