apps installed through Apps should appear to be installed from FakeStore
This would allow more apps to be usable on /e/OS.
Let's use the example of the French app "L'Identité Numérique La Poste", that only works if the app appears to be installed through the Play Store.
-
Install it through Apps.
In Settings > Apps & notifications > L'Identité Numérique La Poste > Advanced, you can see in the "Store" part : "App installed from Apps".
The app fails to start.
-
Install it through Aurora Store (Installation method: Native).
In Settings > Apps & notifications > L'Identité Numérique La Poste > Advanced, you can see in the "Store" part : "App installed from Aurora Store".
The app fails to start.
-
Install it through Aurora Store (Installation method: Root).
In Settings > Apps & notifications > L'Identité Numérique La Poste > Advanced, you can see in the "Store" part : "App installed from FakeStore".
The app starts successfully.
(Actually you now have to enable MagiskHide for this app otherwise it will fail to start because it will detect your device as rooted, but it's not the question here.)
