Samsung A5 2016: not possible to add / register new fingerprints
Summary
On my phone it's not possible anymore to register a new fingerprint (system security settings), in order to unlock the phone. This used to work a while ago, so i suspect it broke with one of last /e/os updates. Fingerprint sensor still works with known fingerprints.
The problem
Steps to reproduce
- Burn your thumb on a hot pan :)
- Try to add a new fingerprint to the settings, so unlocking/identification works with that other finger too
- The system will ask to repeatedly put the finger on the sensor to learn the new fingerprint
What is the current behavior?
- I place the finger on the sensor, but nothing happens
What is the expected correct behavior?
- There should be a visual reaction indicating that the finger has been succsessfully placed on the sensor, and telling me to keep repeating this step until the system has gathered enough information.

I know the sensor is working, because I can still use my left thumb to identify myself using the finger print sensor. It's only the registration of new finger prints that's broken.
UNLESS there's a maximum of four registered finger prints? that's what I currently have. I don't dare to delete one of them however because I don't know which are from the burned thumb and which are from the other thumb.
Registering fingerprints used to work fine a while ago, but as there have been several sytem updates since I last used this functionality I cannot tell when it broke :(. I've started using /e/ around July 2020 and I suspect I'd successfully added my last finger around August 2020 (?)
