system settings storage crashes repeatedly

  • /e/ version: /e/ 0.10
  • Device model: Samsung A5 2016
  • When it started to occur: noticed today, may have started earlier
  • Reproducible with the last /e/ version: no idea (last == most recent or previous?)
  • Reproducible with LineageOS: no idea

Summary

I’m trying to access the system setting “storage” to manage my sd-card. In the menu of the settings-app, the storage-icon displays “61% used, 6.29 GB free”. As soon as I tap on it to open, the system setting app crashes (disappears, display shows me me desktop instead of the storage setting dialogue). Restarting the device is no help

About one month ago I had changed the setting to use the sd-card as internal storage. Not sure, if I ever re-visited the storage settings since then, so the crash might be a consequence of activating this functionality? Or from the most recent system-updates?

  • The device is unusable
  • The bug is the source of a data loss or a big waste of time
  • The bug concerns a third party app
  • The bug concerns security
  • The bug concerns privacy

--> I'd say none of the above, but

  • The bug affects a very basic functionality of the android system that severly impacts general usage

Logfiles

I've created two logs: first log before a crash, then I provoked a crash and created the second logfile:

logcat1_beforecrash_mod.txt

logcat2_aftercrash_mod.txt

PLEASE: This is the first time I ever handled logfiles, if you finde sensitive info please let me know, thanks!
