Decline calls if “do not disturb” is enabled

From https://community.e.foundation/t/decline-calls-if-do-not-disturb-is-enabled/19450

Summary

It would be great to have a feature to decline calls automatically if “do not disturb” is enabled (currently it lets the caller waiting).

This is the behavior of iPhones.

This feature concerns

  • UI
  • Behavior
  • Privacy

Description

Who will use the new feature?

Any user who wants to let his/her callers save time.

What is the target of the new feature for this user?

The user will make it possible to avoid its callers to wait for 30 seconds before getting the "let a voice message" dialog.

Why this user would like to use this feature?

To avoid its callers to wait for 30 seconds before getting the "let a voice message" dialog. The phone has DND enabled so the phone won't ring so waiting would be useless.

Examples

The caller gets immediately on the "let a voice message" dialog.

On call reception

If AND:

  • Option enabled
  • DND enabled

Then decline the call

Validation

  • Enable option (that will have to be created) in DND settings
  • Enable DND
  • Get sure the phone is connected to GSM network
  • Call the phone
  • The screen does not light, you should fall quickly to the "let a voice message" dialog
  • Disable DND
  • Call the phone
  • The phone should ring, you have to wait for 30 seconds before getting the "let a voice message dialog" (normal behavior, to check the condition "DND enabled" and to not miss calls). You should be able to accept call.
  • Disable the option in DND settings
  • Enable DND
  • Call the phone
  • The screen lights with no sounds, you have to wait for 30 seconds before getting the "let a voice message dialog" (current behavior). You should be able to accept call.
