"Phone Number Lookup" enabled by default

"Phone Number Lookup" enabled by default

Summary

The default installation of /e/ seems to send information to Google when the user types something into the search field of the dialer. It also does a reverse lookup of numbers that call your device. Those settings should not be enabled by default for privacy reasons.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Install /e/.
  2. Open "Phone" App.
  3. Open the menu in the upper right corner and choose "Settings".
  4. Choose "Phone number lookup"
  5. Here you see three options that are turned on but should not be.

What is the current behavior?

Lookup features are turned on.

What is the expected correct behavior?

Lookup features are turned off. It should be a conscious decision by the user to turn those on.

As far as I know this behavior comes from upstream (LineageOS). I did not report it upstream.
