More transparency to the user: what folders are synced between cloud and device
I have a little improvement to propose that would help to get much more clarity to /e/phone users. I would wish more transparency what folders are synced between ecloud and device.
As it is now:
- For a user it is not obvious what folders are synced between the device and the eCloud.
- As far as I understand /e/ is syncing Application Settings, Contacts, Calender, Mail, Notes, Tasks, Pictures, Photos, Videos, Music, Ringtone, (Podcasts?).
- On the device side (under Settings > Accounts > MyAccount@e.email > Sync) I can (un)select toggles for Application Settings, Contacts, Calender, Mail, Notes, Tasks Picture&Videos.
- On the server side (under https://ecloud.global/apps/files) there are folders for Ringtones, Podcasts, Pictures, Photos, Notes, Music, Movies, Documents, Devices.
How I would like it to be:
-
In the documentation I would like to have explained in detail what folders from the device are synced. An in particular I would like to read what is synced when I select the toggle "Application Settings". On the devices side I'd like to understand what is stored under "Devices" in https://ecloud.global/apps/files.
-
On the device's side under "Sync", I would like to have all the folders explicitly named that are synced. What seems to be missing for now: Photos, Podcasts, Ringtones, Music.
-
On the server side: Under https://ecloud.global/apps/files there are folders for Ringtones, Podcasts, Pictures, Photos, Notes, Music, Movies, Documents, Devices. As I can create my own folders there (that will now be synced with the device). I would want the syncing folders to be distinguishable (folder names could be all caps, or folder names could be followed by "-e" or the folder icons could be slightly different from folders that I am able to create myself.
