Bliss launcher is not compatible to shelter
There are many good reasons to isolate apps on android - especially if they a are greedy for data like WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger etc. Sometimes if it is not easily possible to convince social contacts to use better and more secure tools, so that you might depend on those apps.
In this case it is a good idea to isolate them as good as possible. For this shelter can be used. Shelter basically uses work profiles and acts as a manager for them. Unfortunately the Bliss launcher is not yet compatible.
If shelter was installed through F-Droid store, the launcher shows only the sheltered apps with no way to show the "normal" apps. If a user tries to open a sheltered app with Bliss by tapping on the icon, an error occurs.
If Shelter runs still in the background, sheltered apps can be properly started through shelter.
Device could be rendered useless, if at least the F-Droid store isn't open so that shelter can be uninstalled.
Bliss should work properly with Shelter (or Work Profiles)
After reviewing and negotiating, Shelter - or its technology - may be included as integral part into /e/ so that users can install and use data-greedy apps with less risk.
If shelter must be used, an alternative launcher like OpenLauncher may be used. This launcher works properly with Shelter. Anyway, this is not a solution - just a workaround.
